Great post! I think that’s where Jesus’ way of doing things is so different to people’s. Sometimes I find myself doing something for an ungrateful or selfish friend and my instinct is to say “why bother” or “they don’t deserve it”. And many of my friends, Christian or otherwise, will often say the same thing. But I try to do it anyway, because it’s a chance to be a bit more the kind of person I want to be. It’s a real challenge to your priorities, though. You only have so much time and energy and it’s tempting to give it where it’s appreciated or valued most.
