Thanks for sharing, Jen. In the midst of a season of death, doubts, and may fears I recently came to the realization that I don't have much faith. It sounds pretty stupid saying that, but when the rubber hits the road, I am realizing that my head knowledge of Jesus just isn't going anywhere. I guess Tim Keller said in a sermon one time that that the main question for the majority of people is not if God exists, but whether He is good or not. I think in that question "God, will you take care of me?" is the fundamental "God, are you good?" I know in my head, but I'm glad there are others along the road of life who are also wrestling through the same sort of thing.

I too fear (out in the open) that He will NOT take care of me...especially surrounding circumstances that I create myself (like an OD checkbook...) This is when I need him to step in with grace and a check out of the blue for $1000. It doesn't happen. And I fear...just like you do...and I hate it. I hate the fear and I hate not feeling taken care of. Yes, it's borderline ridiculous...but it's a real feeling. Thanks for sharing.

Oh do I wish for that easy button! Your post here reminds me of Bebo Norman's song...I Know Now. Maybe it's not the message for you right now, but when my anger overwhelm arrives.....(a beer) and a listen. And I'm reduced to tears and brought to grace. Sorry for poking in and responding to your personal stuff as I know you don't know me from anybody. But you write truth I too often know for myself and I'm rooting for you today to find some of that peace that passes all understanding....because understanding just doesn't cut it. Hang in there.
